Abstract
This study was focused on exploring the sentence structure of Grade 8 learners under different tracks, in order to provide instructions and activities tailored to the specific needs of the learners under these tracks. It made use of a descriptive qualitative design to thoroughly investigate the learners sentence patterns and variations. Ten research participants were involved in this study, selected through purposive sampling. In analyzing the data, both structural and content analysis were used. The results of the study found out that learners across different tracks have their own distinctive writing styles as revealed in the difference between their sentence structures. STE and SPJ tend to use complex structures, SPA and SPS preferred simple sentence structure, while BEC learners balanced both complex and simple forms in their writing. Moreover, learners under different tracks also varied in the lexical cohesions they used. As a recommendation, teachers and school administrators organize track-specific workshops to strengthen the learners writing skill and to develop the skill which they lack of. Curriculum developer should also create a curriculum that highlights each tracks unique writing styles, providing ample opportunities for learners to practice their unique strengths.
