Abstract

This extensive studys major goal is to ascertain the effect that the Gawad Laguna program—previously known as GFTSL or Gawad Felicisimo T. San Luis—has had on the outstanding youth of Lagunasd evelopment of social awareness and linguistic and cultural competence. The research used a descriptive method. The respondents involved in this study came from twenty-four (24) towns and six (6) cities in the province of Laguna. They were drawn from four (4) categories such as Out-of-School Youth, High School Youth, College Youth, and Professional Youth with a total number of one hundred and twenty (120). Purposive Sampling was used in this study. The responses were tallied as a foundation for statistical calculation following the recording, organization, and analysis of the acquired data. The researcher first employed Mean and Standard Deviation to determine the participants level of perception and agreement regarding Immersion and Edification as components of the Whole Process of Gawad Laguna (GFTSL). Second, the researcher also employed Mean and Standard Deviation to gauge participants levels of agreement with Program Benefits including Social Awareness and Linguistic and Cultural Competencies. The Pearson Correlation Coefficient was lastly used by the researcher to determine the significant effects of Immersion and Edification as components of the Whole Process of Gawad Laguna (GFTSL) on the level of Social Awareness and Linguistic and Cultural Competencies of the Outstanding Youth of Laguna.
